Dr Wheeler To Address Chambers Of Amarillo

Dr H N Wheeler chief of the education department for the United States Forestry Service will address a joint meeting of the Amarillo senior and junior chambers of commerce at the Amarillo Hotel tomorrow noon. British Cruiser Birmingham Commissioned for China Service

The 9,000 ton cruiser Birmingham the first British warship built for anti aircraft combat was commissioned for China service today. It will depart Plymouth on Thursday for the Far East. The vessel carries 12 six inch guns eight four inch anti aircraft guns and cost more than 6 million dollars.

Potter County Convention Surplus Funds To Be Returned

Potter County commissioners report about 500 dollars of the 1300 raised for the state convention of Texas county judges and commissioners was left over after expenses. County Judge J Newt Riggs said the surplus will be prorated back to contributors.
