Washington November 14 David Sarnoff president of RCA warned that the fate of broadcasting abroad makes voluntary self-regulation essential for U S radio. He said attacks on democracy require a democratic solution for American broadcasting. Sarnoff, NBC chairman, testified as the FCC opened a hearing on possible monopolistic practices in the industry.

Twelve persons remained confined at St. Joseph Hospital after two special trains carrying spectators to the Notre Dame Minnesota game collided in South Bend. The crash occurred Saturday, injuring fans and delaying the matchup.
