Light Rain Replenishes Parched Panhandle Wheatlands

Light rain continued across the Panhandle with overcast skies and showers easing the drought. Amarillo recorded .08 inch by noon as a general rain fell, expected to persist through today and tonight helping water-starved wheatlands. Abilene reports moisture first among West Texas cities.

Britain balks at plan to partition Palestine

New York November 13 John Bassett Moore 88 renowned international law expert and first American elected to the Permanent Court of International Justice at The Hague died last night. He taught international law at Columbia 1891 1924 served as assistant Secretary of State under John Hay and William Jennings Bryan and helped draft the 1898 treaty ending the Spanish-American War.

Cold and Wind Sweep Across Northern States Today

The mercury plunged to near seven below in Grand Forks North Dakota the nation's low as arctic air spread over the region. Temperatures were close to zero in many communities across North and South Dakota Minnesota and portions of the south and east.
