PAMPA Tex Nov 13 The twentieth annual Northwest Texas conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South opened with Bishop John M Moore presiding. Rumor grows that the 1936 general conference in Dallas will merge the Panhandle Oklahoma conference with Northwest Texas enlarging the area by 5 700 square miles. Presiding elders noted drought driven financial strain and unpaid salaries prompting anticipated readjustments and many pastors serving four years or more expected to yield the largest changes in assignments. Sweetwater requests inclusion in the 1936 conference.
