Gulf Refiner J L May Killed in Alamogordo Hunt

J L May manager of the Gulf Refining Company Portales was killed by a hunter in the mountains near Alamogordo on Tuesday afternoon. His body was found near gunowa and burial is set for Friday. He was 44, survived by his widow and two children, a popular Portales businessman and member of the Masons and Shriners.

John M Baxter Named Troy Laundry Superintendent

John M. Baxter of Houston is appointed superintendent of the Troy laundry in New Troy Texas. He has twenty eight years in the trade and has led large Texas plants before joining Troy, which boasts one of the region’s largest equipped facilities. Baxter will reside in New Troy and expresses enthusiasm for the city.

Cairo reports the inner coffin of Tutankhamen has been moved from the Pharaoh tomb to Seti II’s nearby tomb for examination. Man says he killed coworker after he asked to die

Joseph A. Pickard, 25, confessed he shot Joseph F. Stein, 45, in a hospital basement room, claiming Stein begged to die and Pickard acted as a favor. Hospital staff cited ill will between the men over Stein's alleged past actions.

Thirteen Killed When Transit Trains Collide in New Jersey

Blazer Cleared of All Charges in Daughters Death

Littleton Colorado November 12 Dr Harold E Blazer was cleared of all charges in the death of his 34 year old crippled daughter Hazel on February 24. The jury had not reached a verdict on the murder charge and was discharged by Judge Samuel Johnson. Prosecutor Joel E Stone moved to dismiss and release the defendant saying it would be unfair to persecute him. The judge granted the motion stating humanity dictates not retrying the case.

Two Girls Injured in TV Accident Near 1017 West Tenth

Genevieve Reece and Elizabeth Keel were struck by a car driven by Durwood Gordon in front of the Wales Madden home on West Tenth Street. Genna Gang Members Sentenced to Fourteen Years

Chicago scene reports John Scalisi and Albert Anselmi, members of the Genna gang who killed a policeman, were found guilty of murder and given fourteen years in prison. The victim Hardy Olson died after a pistol battle that also claimed officer Charles Walsh and gang leader Mike Genna. State's Attorney Crowe said Scalisi and Anselmi will face another murder charge related to Walsh's death. Defense claimed self defense and asked for a new trial.

Child Accuses Edelen On Stand In Distict Court

Seven year old Charlotte Cousins testified in district court that J. M. Edelen 70 assaulted her, while defense attorney argued improbability and sought acquittal based on Edelen’s twenty five year good record.
