Coronation No 2 Slated Tonight at Amarillo High

Mrs. JC Todd of 3000 Polk was crowned Queen of Amarillo High School in a morning assembly. She will undergo the rites again at 7:30 tonight in the school auditorium for parents. The ceremony features a procession of princesses duchesses and ladies in waiting. After the evening coronation entertainers perform and the public is invited with no admission charge.

Landmark Burns at Borger Incendiary Fire Destroys Historic Block

A Borger landmark, Big Heart Care & Supply Store, destroyed by fire. Built in 1926 by Mattie Castleberry, later Mattie's Dance Hall, then cafe-store and apartments under J D Williams. Firefighters battled flames from 9:50 a.m. to noon. roof collapsed minutes after control. Residents included Mr and Mrs Williams and others in three apartments.

Navy to drop hay and worms to mutinous elephants at sea

A San Francisco report says the Navy will deploy two planes 1500 miles out over the Pacific to quell a mutiny aboard the SS Swarthmore Victory. Nimrods Load Up For Ducks

Opening guns fire at noon Friday as the 35 day duck and goose season runs through December 16. Shooting hours: one half hour before sunrise to one hour before sunset, with tomorrow from 12:00 to sunset. Daily bag limits: five ducks, four geese with limits on Canada and whitefronted geese. Two duck limits but one goose limit per hunter. Shotguns only. magazines capped at three shells. All hunters over 16 need a federal duck stamp and those 17 or older must have a Texas hunting license when hunting outside their home county. Burglar Steals $2000 Fur Coat in Fort Worth

G Harry Davis of Amarillo and his wife were visiting in Fort Worth when a burglar entered a windowed room and took a $2000 ermine coat left on a bed. Also missing were two purses and $78 in cash. Davis runs General Finance Co. in Amarillo.
