Justice of the Peace W C Ragan of Houston withheld an inquest verdict in the fatal shooting of Lloyd Cavin a farmer. The incident occurred after his wife found him dead in bed with a small rifle nearby. She and children Eveton and Lewis Jr. were away when he threatened to commit suicide while intoxicated.
