Molotov Promises Atom Energy for Soviet Union

Soviet Foreign Commissar V. M. Molotov told an anniversary Bolshevik celebration in London that Western plans for large armies and atomic energy are aimed at others and not at peace. He asserted there are no technical atom secrets and pledged the USSR will pursue atom energy and other major discoveries with skilled workers.

Pantex Land Grant Could Form New Texas Tech School

If the government accepts a bid by Texas Technological College of Lubbock, the Pantex Ordnance Plant would become a major agricultural and industrial college. The RFC would transfer land and buildings for a fully titled grant to train returning servicemen and conduct research in farming, engineering, and oil and gas.

Amarillo Motorists Cited for Violations Yesterday

A list of drivers in Amarillo shows Evelyn Garrison on Route 2 with 10 dollars for no license, Frank Weiss taxicab driver at 714 North Pierce with 5 for reckless driving and 10 for speeding, Claudie Hensley at 712 North West Eighth with 10 for speeding. Additional names include Alvin Morris, Henry L. Rawne, George M. Baxter, John D. Palmer, Melvin Vielebil, Wilbur Rice of Greyhound, Herman Boyd, and Mrs J P Pierce with fines for speeding, running red lights, and running stop signs. There were 26 other traffic violations noted.
