Clem Calhoun Threatened Over Holmes Murder Case

Local officers trace a badly typed threatening letter sent to District Attorney Clem Calhoun. Gas Kills Two Borger Men

Two Borger men Coleman Curry aged 31 and Lewis Prestley Turner aged 20 were killed when they were overcome by gas at an oil tank near Borger Texas. Initial reports said one man was overcome and the other tried to rescue him. Both men were married and formerly from Sapulpa Oklahoma.

Wellington man held for murder in stabbing on road

Haskell Jones aged 23 was jailed in Wellington Texas on murder charges for stabbing Foy Justice to death Sunday. The injury occurred on the road between Wellington and Shamrock after four men returning from Shamrock argued and Justice and Jones stepped from a car to settle the dispute.

City Manager W. N. Durham says no rates will be lowered while explaining the commission authorized an audit of Southwestern Public Service Co and its predecessor City Light and Water Co in Amarillo.
