The City Commission in a special session reduced the 1933 tax rate to 98 cents per $100 valuation, a two cent cut from 1930- era levels, following a 20 percent drop in assessed property values. G L Guy Black chief clerk for Nelson W Willard West Texas Lands faces a justice of the peace murder charge in Seminole Gaines County concerning the fatal injury of T W Sherrell 54 of Seagraves found on a highway near Seagraves. Black bonded for 5000 by two Amarillo men and returned to Lubbock to await further action.
