Meyer Named Chairman of Relief Board
A. E. Meyer was named chairman of the Potter County relief board at its first post appointment meeting. Walter A. Barlow became vice-chairman and Hemon C. Pipkin secretary, with Alvin Hill and Allen Early as other members. Mrs. Val Keeting and A. W. Ellrod spoke on welfare goals and relief statutes. The board took no action on naming a county relief administrator. the State Board of Control will appoint.

Five Die in Kentucky Windstorm Family Tragedy
A Kentucky windstorm near Laurel County killed five members of a seven person family in London. Emma Robinson and four children aged 12 10 8 and 3 died. A 6 year old survived and the father, away on business, escaped unharmed.

Acting Administrator K S Wendler announces a Potter County Relief Board memorandum stating the boards functions are supervisory with final authority vested in the Austin Board of Control. Relief headquarters at 205 207 Polk Street will handle all matters and complaints.
