SCS Will Cut Staff Here
The Soil Conservation Service regional office will trim about 14.1 percent of staff, totaling 61 employees, with 19 leaving or transferring in the five-state region. The reduction targets the budget year and field operations, while technical cooperation with soil districts remains largely unchanged. Consolidation of offices in the old post office building is planned after July 1.
