Thousand Students Seek Summer Work As Job Prospects Shrink
The Amarillo Globe reports that demand for student summer workers outstrips supply. Employers will be pickier, favoring students willing to start at the bottom in fields from retail to farming. About 93 of 1404 surveyed students plan to work, with 593 already employed and 320 seeking options. Wheat and other farm jobs dominate harvest season calls, while retail, office, and service roles also appear.
