Wedding gifts and engagement presents etiquette

Inquiries on group wedding gifts for a boss’s daughter yield guidance that gifts are optional but appreciated as courtesy. Engagement gifts to the groom are unusual but possible, with jewelry such as a watch or cuff links. The choice between candlestabra or candlesticks hinges on taste, with candelabra preferred for more light and decor. Omitting details of a divorce in announcements is advised. A separate note reports a northern New Mexico town where five women and one man win local offices, including a female mayor and a male police judge.
