Amarillo Pilot Julian Bivins and Son Die in Plane Crash
Plane wreckage found near the Canadian River north of Amarillo after a takeoff from English Field. Julian Bivins and his son Billy, both licensed pilots, died in the crash believed caused by stall at low altitude. Bivins was a noted philanthropist and rancher active with Boys Ranch and livestock groups. Funeral plans pending as authorities review the tragedy.
