Special Cotton Report By Alex Hyman
New Orleans May 20 Speculative disappointment over bonus and warmer weather overshadowed by private condition place the estimate today at 69.6. Prospects are for unsettled cooler weather and continued large exports today. Twelve thousand bales against three thousand last year. New York reported Highly-five May notices. Nearly 600 bales certificated here yesterday. Temperatures above normal over entire belt for the first time in several weeks, but cooler forecast west again. Galveston wire also reported an estimate that Texas was only under seventy against seventy seven last year. The bonus law now appears to be viewed with less alarm in speculative circles on the idea that it may prove stimulating to general business later.
