The Potter County Grand Jury returned nine indictments yesterday afternoon before recessing until Thursday morning. Only four indictments had been served this morning. Named defendants include O. D. Cummings charged with theft of 132.94 from the G. B. Carthen residence and Raymond Lopez for theft over 50 related to a purse from the post office. Vernon Jenkins and Hence McKinney are also charged with theft from W. A. Marshall and Mrs. Zeda Deats respectively.
Sgt. Durwood Offord of Amarillo and his Fortress crew accounted for eight Nazi fighters in a single mission over Oberpfaffenhofen. The Bristol clipping notes the feat as part of five operational missions by Offord over Germany and German-held Europe. He is a brother of Miss Juanita Offord of Lincoln Street.
