Washington May 19 U P The House un American activities committee subpoenas for Republican National Committee chairman John D M Hamilton and Maj Gen George Van Horn Moseley retired in a probe of an alleged anti Semitic campaign The panel also seeks George Deatherage of St Albans W Va chief of the Knights of the White Camellias and retired Navy Lt Cmdr Felix McWhirter of Indianapolis president of the People s State Bank In Indianapolis The disclosures describe a campaign led by Moseley and others to counteract a supposed subversive plot with a strongly anti Semitic cast The committee labeled the campaign highly inflammatory anti racial and traced funding to Dudley Pierpont Gilbert and other figures in New York and Owensboro Ky and Athens Tenn The panel planned further hearings Monday at 1 30 P M open to the public Dies said and noted confidential reports were circulated to a select list of 40 including American Legion officials and retired officers The documents introduced included Moseley s May 12 letter to Campbell containing anti Jewish references and plans for a central leadership driven political and propaganda effort to build a disciplined force</s>
