25 Cent Ceiling Proposed for Raw Cotton

The Senate agriculture committee voted 8 to 2 to back legislation by Senator Thomas to prohibit setting a floor price for raw cotton below 25 cents per pound. The bill would stop government owned cotton from selling under 23 1/2 cents until the value reaches 25 cents.

Marine recalls Guadalcanal combat and 124 Japs killed

Johnnie Eugene Marler a 23 year old United States Marine recalls his Guadalcanal battle experiences. He claims to have killed 124 Japanese including two women snipers and shows war souvenirs such as a 36 inch sword with ivory sheath and captured combat gear. He says he intends to raise his total to 200 and recounts injuries including a severed trigger finger and a throat wound.
