Shell Oil Company and Shell Chemical workers resume duties after accepting a contract ending a 64 day walkout. The agreement, signed by company and Oil Workers International Union CIO, brings 1650 production staff back to work at 7:30 AM following a union meeting where the offer was accepted.

Two Hurt in Cars Collide at Julian and Lamar
Two men were injured in a morning crash about 10 10 oclock at Julian and Lamar. L C Nesbitt 613 West Thirteenth suffered a deep head gash and shoulder injuries and was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital. Bob Hadley 19 of 705 Kentucky was knocked unconscious but recovered without permanent injury. Nesbitt turned onto Lamar as Hadleys 1934 Ford sedan traveled east on Julian. Nesbitts 1939 Buick sedan overturned.

Negro attorney shoots spree in D C. two dead two wounded

Bob Hope and radio entertainers arrive in Amarillo next Tuesday afternoon aboard a chartered TWA Constellation. Mayor Lawrence Hagg will declare Bob Hope Day. The welcome includes the Will Rogers Range Riders, a 100 piece high school band, and KGNC broadcasting on site. Hope says all proceeds from the auditorium show go to Boys Ranch with no ticket money benefiting the cast.
