Vitamin Cures Disease Fatal To 10 000 Dogs Every Year
CHICAGO May 8 4 Discovery that a vitamin cures a disease fatal to more than 10 000 dogs yearly was announced today by Veterinary Medicine. The cause of fright disease or running fits was said to be a deficiency of vitamin B1. Dr John W Patton of East Lansing Mich reported in the publication that he discovered this in experiments with more than 60 dogs. Results were always the same. The injection of 500 international units of thiamin hydrochloride transformed a racing maniac into a quiet dog within four hours and into a healthy playful puppy in 48 hours.
