Weekend spree of losses and thefts reported to police
A series of petty thefts and losses were reported over the weekend. Items stolen or damaged include a floor jack valued at 75 dollars from Boswell Service Station, a smashed window at Allen Liquor Store with no entry, and a white gold wedding ring plus engagement ring valued at 216 dollars missing from Ladonna Luther. A window glass marked by a cutter at Dock Coffey Pontiac suggested a blood trail from a hand injury. Other losses include a black billfold with two ten dollar bills, a rifled automobile, a shaving kit and jacket, and two brief cases with an insurance collection book.

G Arlie Craig of Amarillo died last night shortly before 12 in a Childress hospital after falling ill on a bus to Wichita Falls. Known as Red, he lived at the Marion Hotel in Amarillo and had long ties to the city. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. tomorrow at Abernathy with wife Vivian Craig and siblings among the survivors listed.
