Fire Fatal for Two Whitten Children in Colbert Oklahoma
In Colbert Oklahoma two small children Kenneth Whitten three and Harold Whitten seventeen months old died in a house fire on the Whitten farm two miles east of Colbert. The blaze began before dawn as Mrs. Whitten woke her brother-in-law E. W. Whitten and they raced to the bedroom but could not reach the children before the roof collapsed. Two other Whitten children escaped while Joe Whitten was away on a business trip and learned of the tragedy on his return.

Bus Fire Traps Six Near Crosbyton in Crash
