Ely Pushes Panhandle Road Work Toward Completion
Judge W R Ely of Abilene head of the Texas highway commission told Panhandle Press Association officials that the Panhandle road program will advance with new funds this year and that six million dollars has already been spent in the Amarillo and Lubbock divisions since 1927. He warned that diverting gasoline tax funds would cripple construction and urged that funds go to counties with bonds.
