Man Refuses to Submit in Street Hold Up

Jim Stuart of 1210 Fillmore street fought off two men who demanded money at Twelfth and Fillmore between 11 30 and midnight. He was shot in the thigh and taken to a home where a doctor treated the wound. Stuart, 19, works for Colorado Fuel and Iron and said he acted on instinct, striking the assailants as they fled in darkness. Police were notified last night but said they knew nothing until today.

Large Companies Raise Gasoline Price in Texas
