Juan Gutierrez, 37, executed by electric chair at Texas state penitentiary for fatally shooting Deputy Sheriff A. M. Albrecht of Hidalgo County on November 29, 1942. After two Edinburg trials, he faced denials of clemency by the Board of Pardons and Paroles and several stayed dates before the early morning death at 12:15 a.m.
