Old Courthouse Desk Gift Planned by History Society
A brown pine desk dated 45 years to Potter County’s first judges may be donated to the Panhandle Plains Historical Society. It measured six feet by 30 inches and served District Judge Frank Wilkis and Judge W. B. Plemons before the 1904 stone courthouse replaced the frame building. Justice of the Peace C. G. Landis has moved the desk since then. County officials plan the presentation to Canyon museum per Society’s proposal.
