Ex Convict Wounded In Arrest Attempt
City detectives questioned Joel Carroll a 27 year old paroled convict at City County Hospital with a bullet wound in the hip from detective R L Chaffin following an arrest attempt. Chaffin says he and three officers went to arrest Carroll at the request of San Angelo authorities. Carroll was captured in 1931 and sent to the penitentiary for a 25 year bank robbery sentence in Anderson County.
