Professors Praise Amarillo High School Visit

A visiting group of four professors from West Texas State College and Texas Christian University toured Amarillo High School yesterday. They praised student attitude and lauded the high school’s departments in speech art and music.

Mrs. Sallie Webb Funeral Tomorrow

Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie M. Webb aged 92 to be held at 10 am in N S Griggs & Sons Chapel with Dr. A D Foreman Jr officiating. Burial at Frederick after services. She died yesterday in Northwest Texas Hospital after months of illness. Survived by five daughters, one son J E Webb, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

13 Students Leave For Speech Meet

Amari mum school sends 13 students to an invitational speech meet in Midland this weekend. Miss Jessie Mercer and J H Plathers accompany the group by bus. Participants include Suzella Bursey Dorothy Butterfeld Delores Howell Bob Smith Jim Tidwell Ruth Peffley Sara Wescot Jack Gusler Grant Cresspin, with others from Lubbock Big Spring Lamesa Odessa Flo Paso and San Angelo taking part.

Patrolman Injured In Motorcycle Skid Crash

A patrolman was injured this morning when his motorcycle skidded and struck a tram at Pony Allen. He was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital for emergency treatment after suffering a gash to the forehead a bruised knee and a shoulder injury the latter from last October. He was en route to an emergency call at Fifth and Taylor when a Blackburn-Shaw ambulance arrived too late to pick him up.

Munday Seeks Sewer Mains for City Area

Munday asks for new sewer mains in a district between Wolflin Avenue and Bivins Addition as Lowell Mundy plans to develop. City officials estimate costs while assessing the two by three block area just south of Miles Bivins home at 2311 West Sixteenth. Mr. Munday appeared before the commission yesterday.
