In Kansas City on March 19 Thomas Fisher 11 and Richard Francis 7 sat on a curb jotting license numbers. They told police one number was hard to get as a car sped by. Police issued a pickup order for the car from a holdup scene where three men fled.
Elmer L. Mathies of Hereford enlisted today in the Marine Reserve and was called into active service. Set. F. M. Bell said he had room for nine additional reserves.
Mrs. Z. G. Fogerson once of Amarillo lies seriously ill in a Clovis hospital. Mrs. W. N. Garret and Mrs. Alma Whitman of 2025 Hughes have just returned from visiting the ill woman.
Marguerite Boarth of 312 North East Seventh Avenue won a business course scholarship from Amarillo Secretarial School for the Amarillo Social Center. Mrs. Mildred Helfer, director, announced the first such scholarship to the Social Center. The award covers a complete business training course.

Albert H. Owens age 83 longtime Hereford resident died yesterday at his son’s home in Oklahoma City. Survived by a Hereford daughter Mrs J H Wilson and several other children. Funeral services set for tomorrow at 10 am from the First Baptist Church Hereford with burial in Hereford.
