Birthday Club members gathered at Mrs. A. D. Ince’s home 834 Western to honor Mrs. Esther Schriber. The table of the month featured an Easter luncheon setting and convention reports on the Harlingen state meeting were presented by several members.
At a Nu Phi Mu Sorority meeting led by Miss Claydean Poster the group outlined its March 25 monthly program for Veterans Hospital patients as a recreation and variety show with refreshments. Local entertainers Bill Lane Russ Rodgers Bonnie Hale Polly Lowe Seale Jack McGee Rip Ramsey Smokey Joe Dixie E J Jappo Watson Bobbie Stevenson Francis Irvin Dean Pollard perform, and Miss Burl Lee Schwaller announces a Western dance tomorrow at the Grand Palace to fund hospital party refreshments.
A ladies club honored Miss Peggy King bride elect with a surprise linen shower at Mrs. Frank King’s home 202 Colorado yesterday. Mrs Ida Runyon led the session and members sewed as others attended the afternoon event with guests including Mesdames Carl Larson Charles M Bell Carl Hamilton Jess Walter Dave Blackburn Harry Norwood.
