Big Oil Suit Hinges On Texas University Land Claims
AUSTIN March 16 A cross section of the state bar association began shaping details for arguments before the supreme court over the future life of laws governing lease and sale of state and university land. Seven mandamus suits by five relators against Land Commissioner J T Robison challenge the 1919 statute reallocating fifteen sixteenths to buyers of state lands and seek issuance of permits on university land. Relators include Co W Greene P L Buwens Joe S Sheldon D J McDaniel J FE Bowen. Other cases target 1925 university land sale statutes and mandamus actions.
