Washington March 38 The attorney general said he was too occupied with duties to comment on Mrs Roxie Syison testimony about Jesse Smith and Daugherty. The senate committee inquiry he termed an alleged investigation of his official acts.
Bristow Oklahoma March 13 A C Ezra 50 and his 19 year old daughter are held for investigation in the slayings of Lee Snyder 28 and his brother Orris 22 during an altercation. The men were fatally shot by the girl after Ezra attacked them with a club witnesses said Ezra denied the shooting and the girl refused to talk.
William 8. Kenyon of Iowa is believed to have accepted the post of Secretary of the Navy in President Coolidge's cabinet after a White House conference. Kenyon said he would issue a statement later, and the president would also release a statement.
Albuquerque will issue bonds to fund a new library building costing about 865000 while a park system bond issue is blocked by a court ruling. The March 12 decision allows the library project and denies the park bonds.

Amarillo school board voted to add twenty classrooms to six campuses San Jacinto McKinley Buchanan East Ward and Glenwood at an estimated cost of about 70000 funded from surplus general funds. Superintendent McIntosh said over 300 children are currently attending out of district schools and the additions will meet two years of demand unless population surges. Board members present were T W Cotten L B Newby Mrs J Crow Mrs J I Kendrick and Mrs S L Seay.
Burial of explosion victims from Mine No. 2 Utah Fuel company began as 41 bodies were sent to Price and six to Helper. A total of 131 bodies had been recovered, with 172 believed dead.
Washington March 13 The senate defeated the Norbeck Burrows bill by 41 to 32. The measure would have appropriated 50 million dollars to loan to Northwest farmers to enable crop diversification and changes in farming.
Fire at Houston Junior High School in Houston Texas destroyed the two story brick building. Estimated loss stood at 65000 dollars. The school housed 603 students and flames consumed the structure as firefighters arrived. Nearby residents reported seeing lights in the building before dawn.
Dallas officials report twenty two deaths from measles in February, compared with the previous epidemic in 1917. The bureau of vital statistics records show the February toll three times higher than the earlier outbreak.
Cheyenne Wyoming March 13 Sensational charges allege illegal and fraudulent dealing in the lease of Teapot Dome oil reserves to Harry F Sinclair. The petition seeks cancellation of the April 7 1922 lease with claims of illegal transfer by Harding and Fall and concealment of terms and land allocations. A temporary injunction, receiver and accounting are requested.
The coast guard cutter Manning searched off Cape Hatteras for survivors from the Ward Liner Santiago which sank yesterday. The Norwegian steamer Cissy took on eleven survivors and is expected to reach Baltimore. twenty four crew members remain missing.
Breckenridge Texas March 13 a mysterious malady threatens Stephens county cattle with rapid death within about thirty minutes of first symptoms. Dr M A Williamson assistant state veterinarian said it is not cholera as initially suspected and efforts to combat the disease continue as scores of cattle have died shortly after showing the first signs.
Bert Conner reports the killing of two timber wolves near Port Arthur Texas in the Groves area. The wolves stood about three and a half feet high and fought fiercely as they were hunted through swamps and open country before being brought to bay. Hunters say the Groves and Neches river bottoms are infested with wolves.
