Rev. J Frank Peery dubbed Pigeon Popping Pastor leads a pigeon proofing operation at Polk Street Methodist Church. Using a .410 shotgun loaned by E R Goforth, he and the house committee killed well over 300 pigeons in night roost raids. Bodies filled a 55 gallon drum as they closed entry points and continued hunts until pigeons ceased local sightings.

Elks Lodge to Hold Annual Election Monday Night
Amarillo Elks Lodge will hold its annual election Monday at 8 o clock at the Elks Club Fifth and Fillmore. Incumbent officers facing re election include Secretary Henry Lyle leading knight Ed Pitman and treasurer Leroy McGrann. Nominations see Pitman Boxwell Barrett Lyle McGrann and Powell for various roles with multiple candidates for exalted ruler leading and lecturing knight. Red Cross Opens Booths Across City Amid Snow
Red Cross booths operated in three bank lobbies and the post office as volunteers continue the general solicitation drive. Mrs. E B Meyer oversees downtown booths at the post office while Jim Hudson reports $10 963 50 in big gifts toward a $30 000 goal. The 1947 goal is $45 000 and 23 of 48 big gifts workers have yet to report.

Ivan Grayson Held On Robbery Charge
Ivan Grayson 30 was held in Potter County jail in lieu of 2500 bond on robbery by assault. Police say he assaulted Richard Anderson 21 with a heavy stick and stole his billfold containing about 1.25. Bond set at arraignment before Justice of the Peace J. D. Cazzell.
