Tokyo Raid Leaves 15 Square Miles in Ruins

A March 11 raid by 300 plus B-29s caused devastation across 15 square miles of Tokyo including industrial and waterfront zones. Maj. Gen. Curtis Le May described the strike as the most devastating single air blow on any city, with photographs confirming widespread destruction beyond the initial 10 square mile target.
