Death toll from Crab Orchard mine explodes to fourteen

In Eecles West Virginia on March 10 the Crab Orchard Improvement Company mine disaster raised the dead to fourteen as more bodies were found and warned the search party to continue. Oil men flock to Gray County as Wilcox well flows big

The Wilcox No. 3 well near Pampa produced more than 600 barrels daily drawing attention of Panhandle oil men. Operators gathered at the site with many leases around the well owned by major companies. The field is expected to expand with new locations soon. The well lies on the Combs and Wortey ranch in Gray county six miles southeast of Pampa.

Will Rush New School Buildings In Amarillo

The school board will meet Thursday to award contracts for new improvements costing 240000 after a bond issue passed 270 to 13. Architect FE F Rittenberry will finish plans for a 22 room building at Twenty First and Hughes and additions at San Jacinto and North Amarillo. Construction aimed to finish by September 1 for the new term.

Water plans to be opened at tomorrow's city meeting

City commission will review four water plans submitted last night. Mayor Lee Bivins was away from the city for the meeting. Submitting firms include We Land Engineering, Denver and Vuello, Redwood Manufacturing, Layne Texas, Mouston, and the Oklahoma City based Wex Weal company.
