Nurse Betty Gow Questioned in Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping Case

HOPEWELL N J March 4 Betty Gow the nurse in the Lindbergh baby kidnapping case was subjected to lengthy police questioning at the Lindbergh home. Authorities began another session early today after a prior long examination. Gow discovered the kidnapping when she entered the nursery at 10 30 Thursday night. The shutter that could not close through which the thief entered was left open. Gow was chosen by Miss Elizabeth Morrow to be the baby’s nurse and was regarded by the family as a member of the household.

Bank Loot in Shamrock Bank Heist Tops $10000

Two masked robbers entered the First National Bank in Shamrock at 5 am bound and gagged five employees and opened the vault at 9 am. They escaped with $9000 in currency and $1000 in silver, leaving no trace by noon. Sheriff Porter investigated as towns warned to spot a speeding car. Lindbergh Baby Kidnapers Offered Immunity

Hopewell New Jersey March 4 Col Charles A Lindbergh and Anne pledge immunity from prosecution to the kidnappers if the infant is returned. A letter to the kidnappers requests a meeting with representatives and promises confidentiality and no harm to those connected with the return. State police disclosed an anonymous telephone call to the Lindbergh home shortly after midnight asking if immunity would be granted to the kidnapers. The call was intercepted and traced. no details were released. Gov Moore invited a representative from President Hoover to a Lindbergh case conference in Trenton tomorrow. Scotland Yard’s renowned investigators were brought into the Lindbergh case.

Seven trustees and night jailer Claude Smithers indicted on aggravated assault in Potter County jail case. Snodgrass, jailed for drunkenness, alleges he was beaten three times after trustees entered his cell with jailer consent.
