Washington March 3 In a quiet March the government completed plans for tomorrow's national inauguration of Mr Coolidge. Dawes called on the president as he prepared to become second in command. Radio announcers rehearsed for the extensive program that will broadcast the inaugural address nationwide.
Mayor Blasdel and Commissioners Smith and Harris will not decide any Word land option, leaving the water problem to the new administration. A formal statement followed a late afternoon resolution in a public meeting. The Committee of One Hundred urged clear city action and a mass meeting is set for Friday night at the Auditorium. William A. Clark former Montana senator and copper magnate died in his Fifth Avenue residence after a pneumonia following a cold. He led United Verde Copper and owned homes in New York and Butte. Clark had varied careers from farmer helper to art collector and married in Marseille in 1901 to Anna Ja Chappelle. His earlier wife Kate L. Stauffer died in 1890s.

K. K. Warren and sons of Three Oaks Michigan sold 7,000 head of yearling and two to three year old steers to Frank Corn of Crosbyton and Morgan Jones of Abilene. They leased the Warren ranch near Mule Shoe for five years totaling about 70,000 acres. The deal, valued near $400,000, is said to be the largest cattle deal in five years and signals shifts in industry conditions.
Potter County houses five inmates judged insane by juries who cannot be moved from the jail due to overcrowded conditions at the state insane asylums. Judge Sam B Motlow says the county will send Paul Harris, recently declared insane, to a government hospital in Houston soon with help from Judge Motlow and Spanish American War veterans. Harris earned an excellent record during the war.
The ninth annual Panhandle Livestock Producers association convention nears closure with calls for tariff on hides and livestock products and rate changes to ease movement of farm goods. More than twenty carloads of stocker cattle and registered Herefords were auctioned as the meeting wrapped up.
Frank Howe of Rosenbaum Brothers, a steel salesman, declares Omaha the finest livestock market in the Southwest. He invites Panhandle buyers to ship cattle to prove the claim, noting his familiarity with the Panhandle and his reputation in the Omaha market.
