A man described as one of several burglars in Amarillo homes was captured after a running gun battle from Pierce and Fourth streets to the Fort Worth and Denver station around 2:30 PM yesterday. Officer Webb cut off the fleeing man near the Denver station. the suspect, who gave the name Jack Reed, surrendered after a close-range shot nearly hit him.
