Adolfo de la Huerta former provisional president of Mexico must stand trial in Los Angeles on charges of violating United States neutrality laws. An indictment by a Federal grand jury alleges he and nine confederates sought to move arms across the Mexican border. De la Huerta was arrested after his secretary was captured in Tucson, preventing a Tucson trial.
Wheat prices surged more than five cents a bushel on June 30 as black rust reached danger stage in the South Dakota spring harvest. Buying from leading houses pushed July delivery above 1.46 dollars and September above 1.45 dollars.
Flood waters in the San Juan basin claim a second life as Floyd Eskridge four is killed near Monte Vista when a car driven by his mother Mrs J T Eskridge slips off a wet road during a rainstorm. The crash follows an earlier flood death in the area.

Eddie Eckles for Grant Dodge said a cable advised Grace would depart Honolulu at 10:30 AM Island time with Glover field near Santa Monica as destination.
Barking Sands Kauai June 30 Dick Grace plans to fly to California today after weather reports from ships at sea. Unfavorable readings delayed his attempt but he will launch his cruiser monoplane from Kauai immediately if conditions improve.
Chicago June 30. Steel coaches to day were credited with saving the lives of scores of passengers on a Nickel Plate train inbound from New York which struck an open switch in the southern extremity of Chicago and was wrecked. The last four coaches leaped over an embankment and overturned trapping more than 60 persons. Only six were injured.
Dorothy Mackaye, stage actress, found guilty of compounding a felony for attempting to conceal the death of her husband Ray Raymond. She will appear before Superior Judge Burnell for sentencing next Saturday morning.
Police log reports four car and personal property thefts including a 1927 Ford coupe, a portable typewriter, a diamond ring from Hattie Karr, and $80 from Leland Hansen. The Austin Drug store lost 150 grains of cocaine and 40 grains morphine Tuesday night with a back door entry. No arrests yet.

Amid rough seas and storms Byrd and companions battled the weather while radio bulletins reached North America and Ireland signaling the approaching arrival near Paris within 36 hours.
Message from Commander Byrd says fog and low clouds prevented landing since 4 PM yesterday as America advances with navigation challenges and aims to collect scientific data. Frequent bulletins followed from Roosevelt Field and Halifax as the voyage proceeds under Trana Oceanic sponsorship.
