First civilian war criminals hanged in Germany at dawn

Hangings occurred at Hangar Rheimback military prison in Hoheneck Germany as Pete Back Peter Kohn and Mathias Gierens were executed for the murder of an American airman who parachuted into Germany last August. Krein was convicted but reprieved by Lt. Gen. Gerow. Sgt John Woods conducted the executions witnessed by a small official party.

Sudden Tornado Hits Electra Causes Damage

Electra Texas endured a sudden tornado that moved from the Oklahoma border last night in heavy rain. Officials estimate damage near half a million dollars as volunteers clear uprooted buildings and broken power and telephone lines. no fatalities or serious injuries are reported. Missing County Check Recovered After Month

County Treasurer L. D. Heyser questions a missing $4.90 check mailed October 10 to W. Rippy of City Sign Company for courthouse work. The check reappeared yesterday on a Polk Street sidewalk, clean and folded, later being reissued to City Sign Company with payment from last September.
