Lienhard is promoted to Blair's former post as Oklahoma division engineer, with celebrations planned in Amarillo as Kelly is honored.
Funeral rites were held in Canyon for James W Ballard an 84 year old Randall County pioneer farmer and stockman who died last night at his home. Survivors include his wife a son and a daughter plus a brother and two sisters. Burial followed at Dreamland Cemetery under Griggs Thompson Funeral Directors with ministers from Canyon and Happy conducting services.
Twenty Dalhart belles arrive in Amarillo to promote the Annual XIT Reunion set for August 7 and 9. The cast will perform at the Paramount at 9 o clock tonight as Amarillo voters choose Miss Dalhart to accompany the Queen of the XIT at the Dalhart reunion.
Canyon Employment Service will discontinue by June 29 due to lack of activity. The weekly itinerant service at the county courthouse is ending. people filing unemployment claims should use the Texas State Employment Service office at 1050 Taylor Street in Amarillo.
Governor Clyde Tingley and New Mexico officials promise full cooperation with Amarillo for the Will Rogers Memorial celebration set for August 15 to 17. Carl Hinton says Tingley will attend with a large delegation. Albuquerque seeks the largest Will Rogers Highway motorcade, led by Roy Smith of Tucumcari.

Kathryn Bartlett performed a Maxwell Anderson cut from Mary of Scotland in a black satin costume with lace and a pearl edged hat. An opening organ solo, Cantique D Amour, was played by Miss Pereay.
Amarillo retail grocers will meet this evening at the Herring Hotel for a fellowship gathering. Local wholesalers sponsor the event and will handle the program and arrangements emphasizing goodwill among members.
