Chicago reports labor leader Big Tim Murphy was assassinated by gangsters in Rogers Park. Gunmen waited outside his home, rang the bell, and fired from a passing car as Murphy appeared, a single bullet striking his back. He died before doctors arrived.
A tornado about a mile wide struck near the Henriet ta road at the Clay Wichita county line killing W N Cooms 16 and seriously injuring Mrs T W Williams and Wilma Chapmond 11. Damage included the McKee schoolhouse blown down 100 poles down along railways and heavy hail with rain sparking floods.
Tonight and Thursday the region is cloudy with possible local thunder showers. West Texas winds are variable with temperatures from 74 down to 63 today. East Texas and Louisiana expect mostly cloudy skies with unsettled conditions and chances of thunderstorms.

Joplin Missouri June 27 three men were killed when 75 tons of rock fell from the mine roof at the Acme mine of the Missouri Kansas Mines near Waco Missouri. The victims are Robert Thomas 32 Carterville Missouri Stephen Grant 43 Purcell Missouri and Elmer Jess Ware 26 Lawton Kansas.
