Weather forecast for Amarillo and surrounding states

The forecast calls for tonight and Saturday to be partly cloudy and warmer. Hourly Amarillo temperatures start at 63 at 7 am and rise to 87 by 3 pm. Extremes a year ago were 105 high and 71 low. General Pangalos, former war minister and leader of yesterday’s “kid glove” revolution, assumed the Greek premiership after anti government forces seized the telegraph office at Saloniki and forced the Michalakopoulos cabinet to resign. Admiral Hadjikiriakos supported the movement from aboard a warship as troops secured key points and the government discussed forming a new ministry.

Bootleg Raid in Randall Nets Two Men and Liquor

After a lengthy investigation a six man raid from Amarillo and Canyon arrested Elmo Green and J O Faulkner on illicit liquor charges. A thirty gallon still and two and a half gallons of liquor were seized at Green's farm eighteen miles southwest of Amarillo in Randall county.

Thieves Steal $640 Cigarettes From Ennis Wholesale

In Ennis Texas last night robbers gained entry by breaking a lock at Stroud Dockum Wholesale Grocery. Ten full cases of cigarettes worth 640 dollars disappeared from the stock when the store opened today. No other items were taken and a display of georgette dresses was advertised by Montgomery Bros.

Airman Dies as Propeller Fragment Pierces Heart

Sergeant Douglas F. E. Logan of the United States Army Air Service was killed at Mitchell Field when a fragment from a propeller torn through the fuselage of a Martin bomber he rode. The fatal incident occurred today. He leaves relatives in Bisbee, Arizona.

Jackson Wyoming June 26 Gil Huff a Wyoming rancher rode for safety as a massive avalanche tore down Sheep Mountain crossing the Gros Ventre valley a hundred feet high The moving wall of debris narrowly missed Huff and his horse then flooded nearby ranches and his own home becoming a lake six to seven miles long and 200 feet deep Residents of Kelly Wyoming fled higher ground fearing renewed slides and possible floods with earth tremors reported in the past week.

Two Girls Killed By Freight Train Near Alcester

Two girls dressed as boys, Gladys Kemston of Beresford and Alma Stevens of Centerville, were killed when a Chicago and North Western freight train struck them near Alcester South Dakota. Accompanied by Ralph Carlton and Edmund Rowan the youths had ridden the freight from Sioux City in search of food. the girls reportedly spoke of suicide and one youth is missing.
