Adams Youth Loses Life in Tank Near City

Ten year old James Moore Adams drowned in a small pool known as Lone Tree swimming hole five miles north of Amarillo while visiting an uncle's farm. His body was recovered by Griggs ambulance staff but resuscitation failed. He leaves parents Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Adams and siblings John T. Jr. D., M. and Joseph, plus Mildred and Louise.

Britain Plans 17 New Ships For Navy Modernization

London June 25 The First Lord of the Admiralty told the House of Commons supplementary estimates in the 1930 naval program would fund three 6 inch gun cruisers nine destroyers three submarines four sloops and one net layer and target towing vessel. Laying down would occur in the last quarter of the year with limited spend while replacing aged ships and maintaining peacetime duties. The six inch cruisers may be 6500 tons and the total three year cost about 9000000 pounds.

Chicago, June 25 The cab driver Sig Cavielli tried to bluff a policeman by claiming to be Tony Capone. The officer recognized the name and arrested him for a traffic violation. The judge fined Cavielli 25 dollars.

Baby Girl Crushed to Death by Car at Home

Donna May Herter six year old daughter of Mr and Mrs W F Heater died when a parked car on an incline rolled toward their home in the Dean community seven miles southwest of Tyler pinning her between the bumper and the porch. The incident occurred Tuesday with authorities stating the death was instantaneous.
