Police blotter details a runaway sedan near Twentieth and Buchanan streets that roared in gear with its driver Calbert Rutherford chasing. The car leaped away from him and crashed into the corner of the B. P. Harrison home at 1927 Buchanan Street, demolishing the porch and damaging walls and yard.
The Board of City Development under Col. Tlarvell Haines began work today on the tentative program outlined for the organization. A conference with Mayer and Bush plus Ir. Bennett discussed the agricultural program and planned additional work. An agricultural committee meeting will be held soon to finalize plans for the next directors meeting likely next week.
Secretary of Interior announces 126 public land units open to entry on July 14 in the Interstate Fort Laremie and Northport divisions of the North Platte irrigation project in Nebraska and Wyoming. Ex-service men have a preference right of entry until October 17.
Waco Texas June 2 United Press reports W T Rogers a 50 year old farmer died after choking when he fell on a street corner. An attack of heart trouble caused the fall. An X Ray showed his false teeth lodged in his throat.
Lincoln Neb June 23 The fate of Frank Carter the so called sniper murderer hangs on a six member Supreme Court panel as they decide on an unsanity hearing tomorrow morning.
Night confrontation on North Rockwell street leaves Sergeant Thomas Kehoe and Officer James Farley dead and Dan Leathers killed. A mystery girl fled the scene after a masked carjacking near the Cooper residence sparked the gun battle, with Farley noting the woman’s escape.
Commander Richard E Byrd said the tri motor monoplane America will be moved to the runway at Roosevelt Field New York tonight for a 4 am takeoff to France if weather permits. Optimism rose as weather clearing and barograph checks were arranged with Porter Adams traveling from Washington.
