Doctors and nurses urge Hull to press Japan over interference

In Shanghat on June 21 U P forty five American doctors and nurses passed a resolution urging Secretary Hull to renew protests to Japan against continued and unnecessary Japanese military interference with foreign rights. Nine Japanese planes dropped eight bombs on American and British property at Wachow treaty port 180 miles west of Canton on the Sikiang River. A bomb struck near a Standard Oil tank and another hit Texaco and Asiatic Petroleum properties with another bomb exploding nearby in the river.

Escape fugitive linked to Raymond Hamilton case

Potter County police report a fugitive connected to the Raymond Hamilton incident was captured last Wednesday. He carried two pistols, a stolen car nearby, and used aliases Claude Brooks and Floyd Hamilton. He had prior reform school confinement for assault with intent to murder and car theft, escaped, and faced a December 1936 attempted homicide charge against Mr. King.

King testified that youth robber, identified as Fogg, forced him to drive across the city and planned to leave the victim on the prairie with the car. In a confrontation near the cemetery Fogg attempted to shoot King, injured him, and fled in the car, later being captured in Liberal, Kansas after robbing King of his watch and money.
