Shamblin with Estelle Stevens presiding led a business discussion as the chapter charter closed and five members were initiated including Bobbie Dallage Lottie Bar row Willemay Wicker Thelma O'Grady and Weta Stoops. Eleven members attended the meeting.
Green Haven Home Demonstration Club met at Mrs J C Arden's Western Avenue home for a covered dish luncheon. President Mrs Carl Dupriest led business and planned the July community picnic. Speakers covered medical topics by Mrs S J Goldwater and others. The next meeting is July 3 at 2 PM at Mrs S J Goldwater's Canyon Highway home to discuss convenience plans.
The Globe Shopper Series notes sleeveless sheer dresses for summer with high hemlines of fifteen inches and various neckline shapes. It also promotes a new hair removal device, the Lady Norelco electric razor, praised for safety and ease at home, with portable styling and 110 volt power.
Co Workers of Polk Street Methodist Church held their monthly luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. E H Kramers led the invocation, and Mrs Verne Hickerson sang with Mrs J M Simpson accompanying. The class reports show an enrollment of 288 members. Mrs Jerry Ratcliff installed new officers with Mrs Jason Robberson becoming president and Mrs Joe Coffee as teacher. The session closed with Mrs Robert Douglas singing The Ninety and Nine. Seated 75 members and guests with seasonal flower decor.
Women of the Southern Presbyterian Church plan an ice cream social at 7 30 Friday evening on the church lawn. The public is invited to attend.
