A six day heat wave continues with temperatures rising 1 to 7 degrees from yesterday. Numerous deaths and prostrations are reported as New York and the metropolitan area endured 98 degree heat yesterday. At 11 am temperatures reached 86 in the city, three degrees above yesterday.
The Globe reprints Arthur Brisbane urging careful use of hundreds of millions for farm relief. He favors hiring modern engineers to reorganize farming, renting durable machinery to farmers, and notes a Paris heir’s missteps. He recalls John L. Paris reports Col. Charles A. Lindbergh cabled his congratulations to Jean Assolant Rene Le Fevre and Armeno Lotti Jr for their Yellow Bird transatlantic flight from Old Orchard Maine to Comillas Spain. The fliers thanked him praising his route and courage and offered cordial salutations.
United Press reports the Texas Supreme Court invalidated the farm tenant law that capped crop rent under Gov Ferguson era. The ruling in Shaun Culberson versus B G Ashford from McLennan County ends a policy limiting contracts to one third of grain or a quarter of cotton and confirms landowners could seek acreage bonuses previously common. Former governor Ferguson learned of the decision from the press.
Abner Aldridge of Birmingham testifies before the Federal Trade Commission that he borrowed 50000 dollars from Logan Martin of Alabama Power, which he loaned to Joseph F. McGowin of Mobile to fund the establishment of the Mobile Press.
Ed wards Tailor Shop proprietor S L Edwards was struck with a gas pipe by a prowler at 7 this morning as he opened the store at 115 East Fifth Avenue. He was treated by Dr. R M Walker then returned home. No one witnessed the attack and nothing was stolen.

The Amarillo Court of Civil Appeals declared Borger city’s ordinance requiring wrapped bread and bakery items to be held for one hour before sale invalid and unenforceable. The case, appealed by A Loaf Baking Co of Amarillo and argued by Borger and Amarillo attorneys, ends a two year fight over market access in Borger.

The Senate reshapes its long standing secrecy rule and a tariff revision restriction effort fails by one vote.
Marion T. Myers, previously detained in the Theora Hix hammer murder inquiry, was released today by County Prosecutor John J. Chester Jr. Dr. James H. Snook remains the sole suspect still held in connection with the case.
R H Hamilton will be tried in Weatherford Parker County in the Forty Third Judicial District for the slaying of Tom Walton Jr on May 4. A trial date is not fixed likely in October at earliest after September 30 term. Weatherford chosen as compromise location between Fort Worth and Abilene area. Defense and state attorneys met to select site, with removal from Amarillo approved due to claimed prejudice in Potter County.
Minnie Merle Kunz, five, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lewis Kunz of 618 Parker Street, died when the family car plunged 100 feet over an embankment near Eagle Nest Dam in New Mexico. Her father suffered multiple injuries while Mrs Kunz was shaken but helped transport the body to Amarillo. Funeral services are set for 2:30 pm Thursday at Griggs chapel with burial in Llano cemetery.
