Rancher dies in gun battle in Gonzales Texas

In Gonzales Texas an elderly rancher Walter Knandel 70 died after a shotgun duel with J Hutcheson 60 owner of Apache Liquor Store on the town square near the county courthouse. Hutcheson was seriously wounded and the only witnesses were two boys.

Acheson Heads to Dallas for Policy Address Evening

Secretary of State Dean Acheson left by air for Dallas to deliver a foreign policy address at Southern Methodist University. He traveled with Mrs. Acheson and several officials including Senators Connally and Wilson, Representative McGhee, Lucius D. Battle, and staff. The speech was to be before the Civic Federation of Dallas.

Remington pleads innocent to perjury in Communist denial

Missing Pilot of Crashed Plane Reappears in Pampa

Borger officials report R E Heidenreich, Borger construction worker, called to say he ran out of gas and crashed near Canadian. He walked into Canadian, boarded a train to Pampa, ending a hours long search by Sheriff Risley and Deputy Newton who found only tracks at the crash site.
